What happens when I drop my project?
Your browser skips dependencies, build output, media and secrets, zips the rest and streams it to isolated storage. We inspect it statically (never run it), detect the stack, features, maturity, security and rebuild cost, render the live product for real screenshots, and write a sales page from those facts. The raw upload is deleted after the retention window; only the analysis stays.
Is the analysis free?
Dropping a project, the full code analysis and the screenshots are free. The seller report — value range, BuildScore, every adjustment, suggested prices, strategy and the seller package — is $39 per project, and it is credited against the success fee when the project sells. Listing, auctions and buyer accounts are free.
My project has no revenue. Is it worth anything?
Often, yes. Pre-revenue products are valued on replacement cost, completeness, technical quality, users, waitlists, domain and how easy they are to transfer. We deliberately avoid inflated numbers: trust matters more than an exciting figure.
Do you hold the money when I sell?
No. Buyer funds go directly to an independent, regulated escrow provider. Funds are released to the seller after the buyer confirms the transfer. Our fee is settled inside the escrow transaction.
What exactly is sold?
Specified digital assets and associated rights: code, domain, apps, brand, data where lawful. Not company shares, securities, tokens or fractional ownership.
Do you read my private code?
Only what you give us: a dropped folder, a ZIP or the repositories you explicitly select read-only. We inspect statically — nothing is executed on our servers — and store derived metrics, never a full copy beyond the short retention window. Buyers never see private code.
What does BuildMarket charge?
Success fee of 5% on sales under $100,000 (4% from $100,000 and 3% from $500,000). 15% on license sales. $39 per seller report, credited back when the project sells. Optional featured placement. No buyer fees.
